* You may be confused by the words "taco bar," as I sent you a frantic email last week asking you for your meal preferences. I misread the catering menu - which looks very much like a restaurant menu, you can look it up online and razz me if you think I'm wrong - and I only found out after emailing the Marine Lab that only one entrée option was possible. The staff advised me to pivot to the option that accommodated the greatest variety of dietary restrictions. I apologize for my misunderstanding - especially to those of you who were expecting to luxuriate with tri-tip or salmon!
Sunday, March 30th
9:00 - 10:30am: Continental breakfast in the dining hall
10:30 - 11:00am: Check-out window
Overnight Accommodations
Those of you who RSVP'd asking for an overnight spot will have a double room with a roommate. We ended up not needing the bunk house.

Getting to the Marine Lab
The Sonoma Raceway will be active (and impeding traffic on Highway 37) this weekend. I encourage you to take the scenic route through Napa and Sonoma!
The address is 2099 Westshore Road, Bodega Bay, CA 94923.
The gate code is 5115. Parking will be available on site. Turn into the housing gate, which comes first, rather than the lab gate.
Liability Waiver
You will be asked to sign one when you arrive; they can be viewed here.
Weather
It's supposed to rain!
Be Mindful of Nature
Deer ticks are active this time of year. You are strongly discouraged from going off trails or "bush-walking" between housing areas. It will likely be cold enough that you are wearing long pants and socks, but you are strongly encouraged to check your legs for ticks after a walk outdoors.
Poison oak is also rampant in the area; here is a link to some pictures. Fellow natives of the West Coast may have grown up with this rhyme at summer camp: "Leaves of three, let them be; if it's hairy, probably a berry; if it's shiny, watch your hiney."
QE Prep Talks and "Pit Crews"
The retreat hasn't included QE prep talks for a few years, but when it did, we assigned "pit crews" of ~3 faculty and students to give written feedback in addition to the Q&A. Picture the fourth rotation talk in BCB 220L.
Pit crew members can fill out their written feedback via Qualtrics.
